Roger (and Barbara) were beyond the most kindest people on earth. As kids, we would look forward to visits and fun times on Theresa Avenue. Roger would build a big fire and it was like the greatest cook out ever. It was a blast to hike around the old "cutter" road with all of his kids and Roger knew everything about the lake and he knew how to fix any type of problem with cars, snowmobiles or even bull dozers. He loved his family and raised 6 super nice kids who have the same values and love for animals that their dad had. His heroic service during brutal conditions far surpassed anything you see in the movies, yet he felt it was just his humble duty for the country he loved. We will never forget you, Roger. You really made a difference here on earth and we are so grateful to have grown up with you and to have been in your company.
Glenn and the entire Witkum family

Always had great feelings any time our family teamed up with the Gagnon's. Roger was so unique with all his inventions. Whether it was listening to Barbara singing " Downtown", playing hide and seek or rocking back and forth on the couch listening to the Beatles, Roger always had a supportive smile!

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful man Roger was. I lived next door to Roger and Barbara for a long time and became very good friends with Christine, Debbie, Carlene, Michelle, Michael and Raymond. It was such a pleasure to have all of them as neighbors. He was always fixing cars and was a hard worker. My sincere condolences to the family. RIP Roger !!

Roger was such an important part of my life since the day I was born. He was always there to fix something in my family's home and then my own home. More recently, I loved how he was always up for an adventure. We would ask him if he wanted to do something and he would answer, "I don't see why not" and it was always without complaint. He chose to put aside his aches and pains and enjoy himself.
We are so sorry for your loss.
