Martin V. Kaelin, Jr., 94, of Windham, NH died on Saturday January 24, 2015 at Prescott House, N. Andover. Mr. Kaelin was born in Groton, CT and was raised and educated in Methuen. He lived in Methuen for most of his life. Before retirement, he worked as a machinist for several manufacturing companies. Mr. Kaelin served with The US Army during WW II as a medic under the surgeon general. An avid golfer, he hit a” hole in one” at the age of 70 at The Bradford Country Club. Martin loved camping, fishing and was an avid New England sports fan. Family was everything to him. He spent much time with his children and grandchildren. He taught them many things and did everything with them.
The widower of Lorraine (Guimond) Kaelin, his family members include his daughters, Madeline and her husband, Michael P. Bryson and Nancy Williams both of Windham, NH. He leaves his sister, Marie Rodgers of Salem, MA and his grandchildren, Michael Bryson, Jr., Maureen Bryson Bertholic and her husband, Joseph, Robert and his wife, Tina Bryson, Amy Bryson and Christopher and his wife, Erin Battles. He also leaves his great grandchildren, Corinne, Erica, Ashley, Katie, Joey, Declan and Conor as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers and sisters, William Kaelin, Louis Kaelin, Teddy Kaelin, Judy Caswell and Caroline DeAngelis
Calling hours will be on Wednesday January 28, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday January 29 at 10:00 am in St. Mathew’s Church, Windham, NH. Burial will be in Cemetery on The Plain, Windham, NH.
