William E. “Bill” Redfern – Derry, NH

William E. “Bill” Redfern of Derry, NH passed away on November 18, 2023 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH.

Bill was born in Lawrence, MA on August 8, 1933, the son of the late William H. and Alice (Cantin) Redfern.  He grew up in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

He worked for Redfern Memorials until its sale.  He had also worked for Foss Manufacturing in Hampton, NH for over 15 years.  Prior to his retirement, Bill worked at Sears in Salem, NH for over 19 years.

Bill loved spending time with his family, trips to Foxwoods, and prior to his illness and it’s closing, spending time with his friends at Rockingham Park.

He was a life member and past Commander of Methuen V.F.W. Post #8349 in Methuen, MA.

Bill is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Barbara (Greenwood) Redfern of Derry, NH.  His three daughters; Marie and her husband James Pacheco of Salem, NH, Deborah Kendall of Londonderry, NH and Lisa Wyman and husband Peter of Derry, NH.  His two sons; Jerry Redfern and his wife Suzanne and Richard Redfern, all of Salem, NH. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive him. 

Calling hours are Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 3 – 6:00 PM at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the calling hours at 6:00 PM.
