William Lawson

William "Bill" Lawson, age 62, passed away at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 20, 2019 following a hard fought illness the past two weeks.

Bill was born in Lawrence, MA., on April 9, 1957 to Helen (Sullivan) and Neil Lawson. Bill was the youngest of 5 children.

Bill and his wife Cheryl were married on July 1, 1978 and spent the next 41 years building their family and life, eventually moving to Salem, NH, where they have lived for 25 years.

Bill will be remembered as a hard working, simple man who was a fan of all Boston sports, Western films, Let's make a Deal and The Price is Right. He was dedicated to his family and especially his grandchildren, who adored him. They will miss their Pepe immensely.

Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cheryl (James) Lawson, His children, Tara Della Croce and her husband Andrew, Robert Lawson and his wife Jennifer, and Matthew Anderson and his husband Ryan. His grandchildren, McKenna Lawson, Harper Della Croce and Rory Della Croce. He is also survived by his nephew, Charles Sturtevant, who he helped to raise. His sister Elaine Young of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Bill was predeceased by his parents Helen and Neil and his siblings, Patricia Sturtevant, Anne Mondejar and John Lawson. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Visiting hours are Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 4 to 7 PM at the Goundrey and Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH., Funerals services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem.
