William H. Guay – Londonderry, NH
William H Guay, 88, passed away in Manchester, NH on May 16, 2020. Bill, also known by many as “Grampy Bill”, was born in Lawrence, MA. He graduated from Lawrence High, Merrimack College and later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He worked for Wonder Bread from 1955-1969 and retired from Merrill Lynch in 1999. Bill was a “Charter Member” of the Methuen Knights of Columbus, active in his parish, Mary Queen of Peace in Salem, NH and served on a Cursillo Movement for more than 20 weekends. Bill helped raise funds for the start of the Lazarus House Ministries and served on the Board of Directors for several years. He is predeceased by his son, Brian Guay and his sister Barbara Cedrone. He is survived by his wife, Claire Guay; married for 68 years, his daughter; Elaine Gordon, seven grandchildren; Kerriclaire Hodson, Christine Moore, Russell Desfosses, Joseph Guay, Heather Miller, Amber Frey, Sheyenne Drouin and ten great-grandchildren. His energetic personality, quick stories and jokes will be imbedded in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him forever. At the request of deceased, there are no calling hours and Funeral Services will be a private. Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home in Salem, NH is entrusted with the arrangements.
