Thomas Voskerjian Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Voskerjian, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 20, 1928, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to the late Arakel and Helen Vosgerichian. Tom spoke fondly of his childhood, cherishing the many memories he shared with his parents, brother, and friends. Those early years remained close to his heart.

Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Voskerjian, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, and they raised two daughters in Salem, New Hampshire. In their later years, Tom lovingly cared for Helen, a testament to the depth of his commitment and love for her.

Tom worked as a machinist until his retirement. He was deeply devoted to his family, his faith, and his Armenian heritage. He took great pride in his roots and enjoyed speaking Armenian and listening to Armenian music, which brought him comfort and joy.

His life was marked by meaningful friendships, many of which spanned decades. Tom genuinely loved talking with others and had a sincere interest in what everyone had to say. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed and valued, and he never hesitated to express his love and appreciation for those around him. There was always an “I love you” at the end of his conversations.

Tom had many hobbies and interests that kept him active and socially connected. He especially loved working out at the Salem Athletic Club, where he formed friendships that began at the gym and grew into lifelong bonds. Later in life, those friendships continued as weekly Saturday morning breakfasts. Tom also loved the beach and spent many winters in Florida visiting his sister-in-law, Sandra Garabedian.

He is survived by his daughters, Audrey Gilman and her husband Steve, Laurie Sliney and her husband Joe; his grandchildren, Adam Gilman, Sarah Lippincott and her husband Trevor, Luke Gilman and his wife Andria, Allie Sliney, and Chrissie Sliney; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Adelina, Eden, and Nathan. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and church community.
