Thomas R. Kendra, 57, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 13, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Tom was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 23, 1964, to Nina (Glodek) and the late Edward Kendra. He graduated from St. Rita of Cascia High School, Class of 1982, in Chicago, and the DeVry Institute of Technology in 1984. He was employed as an Electronics Technician with AT&T/Lucent Technologies for 25 years and later earned multiple Cisco and Microsoft Network Engineering certifications from the Network Technology Academy Institute in Somerville, MA. He was most recently employed as a Network Engineer with FairPoint Communications in Manchester, NH.
Tom was also a talented musician. He was co-founder, lead vocalist and bass player of the popular local band, DoubleShot. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, woodworking, mixing and recording music, but most of all, spending time with friends and family. Tom was funny, generous and was someone you could always count on in time of need.
Tom is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa (Hartnett) Kendra of Atkinson, NH; his mother, Nina Kendra, and his brothers, Richard Kendra and Gerald Kendra, all of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are cordially invited to call on Thursday, March 18, 2021, form 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, face masks must be worn and social distancing must be observed. A Funeral Mass and Burial will take place in Illinois.
