Theodore Slavin – Salem, NH

Theodore Slavin, of Salem, NH, entered into rest on March 26, 2024 after a long illness at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of the late Jane Lang, son of the late Dorothy (Cooperstein) & Samuel Slavin & brother of the late, Joseph Slavin.  Step-father of Paul Lang of Cambridge, MA.  Father of Richard (Patti) Slavin and grandfather to Olivia and Lila Slavin of Concord, NH.  Cherished uncle of Fredrick ‘Rick’ Slavin of Naperville, IL, Alan Slavin of Raynham, MA, Jonathan (Tiffany) Slavin of Naples, FL, Pamela (James) Sherry of Stoneham, MA and Robin Slavin of Methuen, MA.  Grand uncle to Jessica, Logan, Jayden, Juliette, Giovanna, Ian and Kyle.  Dear person to many other extended family members and friends. 

Ted was born in Boston and grew up in Dorchester, MA - graduating from Boston Trade High School in 1962.  He worked for several companies including Electrolux and Haemonetics.  A real character, always with a joke to make people laugh, he loved games, model trains and anything mechanical.  He could fix just about anything!  For years, he was a fixture at the Salem NH Farmers Market - which he was integral in helping his wife, Jane start.  Fiercely independent even in declining health, Teddy still enjoyed a drive around town, takeout Chinese food and playing cards at the local senior center.  He will be missed by all who knew him well.  Overseas operator out.

Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Salem NH Farmers Market (www.salemnhfarmersmarket.org), Ingram Senior Center (www.salemnh.gov/419/Donations), Bread of Life Food Pantry (www.triumphantcross.org/bread-of-life-food-pantry) or the charity of your choice.
