Sally Higginbottom Obituary

Sally M. (Castiglione) Higginbottom – Pelham, NH

Sally M. (Castiglione) Higginbottom 89, of Pelham NH, passed away peacefully on November 15th at home surrounded by her family. Sally was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Sally was born in Lawrence, MA on March 31, 1931. She is the daughter of the late, Salvatore and Carmella (Millie) Castiglione.

Sally grew up in Lawrence but for the past 20 years she made her home in Pelham, NH with her daughter, Cheryl and her husband, John Fendelander.  Sally was a 1949 graduate of Lawrence High School. Later in life Sally worked at Cardinal Shoe.  Sally also worked at the Andover Companies until her retirement in 1996. While at the Andover Companies she was active on the bowling team.

Sally enjoyed crafting and would participate in craft fairs throughout the Merrimack Valley.  Sally also decorated cakes for family events. She loved to play bingo with her friends and quite often would go to Foxwoods and play the slot machines.  She was happiest with her grandchildren.  She loved being there for them and taking them out.  Sally even went camping and on boat rides to be with them.  Mom loved the beach and would often rent a cottage in Salisbury to have the family get together.  Sally loved taking the grandkids to the Center and to the arcades and spoil them with tickets for toys.  Sally was an avid Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs collector and was thrilled to spend her 70th birthday at Disney World with her family.

Sally is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Fendelander and her husband John of Pelham NH, whom she lived with and Susan Bradish and her husband, Glen of Lawrence, MA.  Her grandchildren, Christine Welch and her husband, Jason of Nashua NH, Katie and Jay Fendelander of Pelham, NH, Glen Bradish Jr. and his, wife Debra, Leanne, Jill and Stephen Bradish and his fiancé, Najwa Azzi. Her great-grandchildren, Connor Welch, Jenna, Alexie, Madison, Evan and Aiden Bradish. Sally is also survived by several cousins across the U.S. She was predeceased by her husband, James Higginbottom, her sister, Ann and her great-grandchildren James, Carolina and Analiah.

The family would like to thank Dr. Randall Fenton, Robin, Linda and staff for their compassionate care, support and guidance towards Sally over the years. Also thank you to Merrimack Valley Hospice for their care and guidance.
