Ruth A. Prescott

Ruth A. Prescott, 86 passed away peacefully on Thursday July 7 2022 at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 29, 1936, Ruth was the daughter of the late Agnes (Blott) and James Spellman. She was predeceased by her son Jaymes Arsenault, her husbands Joseph Arsenault and Charles “Buddy” Prescott, her partner Arthur DePippo, and her sister Mary “Peg” Esposito. Ruth is survived by her granddaughters, Bianca Arsenault of Methuen, MA and Mariah Arsenault and her significant other Jackson Jennings of Manchester, NH, with whom she was lucky enough to share a warm and loving relationship. She is also survived by her sister Anne Marie (Allan) Cuscia of North Andover MA, with whom she shared a love of travel and many laughs. Ruth also leaves behind Gina Lewis of Grand Junction, CO as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  

Ruth was a devout Catholic who partook in many retreats and pilgrimages. Ruth had a deep love for Yoga and studied at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA. While there she had the unique opportunity of studying with many renounced Yoginons. Ruth opened her own studio in Salem, NH where she became a well-known instructor. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, often meeting with them for lunch at T Bones or dinner at Molise. Ruth also spent many summers at Salisbury Beach with her toes in the sand. She loved to travel and had the great fortune to sail on many cruises and visit a variety of locations including Italy, Hawaii, Mexico, many Caribbean Islands and one of her favorites, Aruba. Ruth's granddaughters were her pride and joy and she loved to spend time with them, getting her nails done or grabbing an iced coffee. Ruth's sense of humor and friendship will be missed by all. 

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday July 18, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday July 19 at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem, NH. (Family and guests are asked to meet directly at the church) Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
