Roberta J. (Quimby) Gioacchini, 87, of Reading, MA, passed away April 7, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born in Methuen, MA on August 31, 1934, daughter of Elliott and Ada (Lumb) Quimby. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband, Arthur Gioacchini and her daughter, Darlene (Gioacchini) Kenerson.
Roberta was a long-time resident of Salem, MA until she retired to Englewood, FL with her husband, and, later returned to New England in 2010. She graduated from Lynn English High School in 1954, where she met the love of her life. She and Arthur were married in 1955 and lived in Lynn, MA until they moved to Salem, MA in 1967, where they continued to raise their family. Roberta worked at Raytheon in Andover, MA from 1974 until 1989. She was a member the Eastern Star since her retirement to Florida. She and Arthur loved to travel and were fortunate enough to spend time visiting sites in Europe and the United States. She enjoyed her daily conversations with her sister, Arlene, and her best friend, June, and visits with her niece, Diana. She also enjoyed corresponding with her relatives in the United Kingdom.
She is survived by her son, Richard Gioacchini and his wife, Lisa, of Methuen, MA, two grandsons, Devin Gioacchini and his wife Kayla of San Diego, CA and Nathan Gioacchini of Worcester, MA, as well as her great granddaughter, Kennedi, of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene (Quimby) Silva and her husband, Marino, of Vero Beach, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Ernestine “Tina” (Quimby) Desilets and her husband, Joseph.
