Robert “Bob” Alan Fitzgerald

Robert “Bob” Alan Fitzgerald age 81 longtime resident of St. Petersburg, FL and Stoneham MA, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Salemhaven Rehab in Salem, NH.  Bob was born on November 21, 1940 in Arlington, MA the son of the late, John J. and Margaret M. (Hoyne) Fitzgerald.  He was raised and educated in Arlington.  He earned a BS in Engineering from Northeastern University.

Bob had worked for Gillette Company for 30 years as a Packaging Engineer at the company’s Andover and So. Boston locations.

Bob was in US Army Reserves receiving an Honorable discharge in 1968.

He was an avid golfer who was very active. Bob also enjoyed travelling with his wife, Denise.  A true “Jack of all trades”, Bob was always the go to guy when you needed something fixed.

Bob was predeceased by his wife, Denise (Coakley) Fitzgerald and his siblings John, Edward and Ann Fitzgerald. He is survived by his children; Robert  Fitzgerald, Debra Rogers and Amy Fitzgerald, his grandchildren; Robert Fitzgerald, Margaret MacDonald, Emily Fitzgerald, William Rogers, Carolyn Rogers, Justine Wright and Jasmine Fitzgerald and his great-grandchildren; O’Shea and Oakley Fitzgerald, Brooks and Jaxson MacDonald and Juniper Wright.

Calling hours are Monday, September 12, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 40 Main Street in Salem.  There is no burial scheduled at this time.  Please visit www.goundreydewhirstfuneral.com for directions or to sign the online guest book.
