Robert Edward Lister – Daytona, Florida
Robert Edward Lister, affectionately known to many as 'Uncle Bob', peacefully passed away on February 27, 2024, at his home in Daytona, Florida, at the age of 60. Born on May 5, 1963, to Gordon and Palma Lister in Lawrence, MA, Robert's life was a testament to love, family, and adventure.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters and their spouses: Georgette and Wane Muise, JoAnn and David Hamel, Linda and Mathew Whiter, Joseph Lister, Pamela and Andre Garcia, Patricia and Anthony Morency, Edward Lister, Amy and Carl Beauregard.
Robert's legacy lives on through his devoted brothers and sisters, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he deeply adored.
Growing up amidst the bustling streets of Lawrence, Robert shared his childhood with his ten siblings, forging unbreakable bonds that would last a lifetime. He joins his beloved parents, Gordon and Palma Lister, his brother Gordon 'Chucky' Lister Jr., his sister Cheryl Guillette, and nephew Andre Garcia Jr. in heaven, where he undoubtedly stands guard over his cherished family.
A career as a truck driver in the oil industry and as a professional mover took Robert across the highways and byways of America. From New England to Daytona Florida, he made each place his home, embracing the open road with a spirit of adventure. This spirit for travel was ignited as a child during family trips to the White Mountains.
Bobby's upbringing was marked by his time at the Lawrence Boys Club and his participation in Golden Gloves boxing, reflecting his early passion for camaraderie and competition. In his downtime, he found joy in simple pleasures. In the winter you might find him stringing up Christmas lights, ice fishing in his Camaro Berlinetta, or at the kitchen table with a cup of dunks. In the summer he enjoyed riding his Harley and surfcasting with his brother Joe at Plum Island and Gloucester, and spending time with his family at the many cookouts over the years. Bob was a fan of local sports teams. As a Patriots fan he was there at the first Superbowl parade. As a hockey fan you would often find him passionately cheering on the Bruins while simultaneously berating officials from his vintage television set.
A true pillar of strength, Robert possessed a heart of gold and an unwavering commitment to helping others. He was the first to lend a helping hand and the last to leave, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
