Robert E. Condon – Methuen, MA

Robert E. Condon, known to many as Bob or Cockroach, passed away on August 22, 2026, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, at the age of 61, surrounded by many of his family and friends.

 

Born on September 25, 1964, in Methuen, Massachusetts, Bob lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a spirited love of adventure. He was the son of the late John and Anne Condon of Methuen, Massachusetts, and grew up surrounded by the values of loyalty, perseverance, and togetherness that would remain with him throughout his life. A graduate of Methuen High School and the Condon School of Hard Knocks, he carried the lessons of his father, his brother and his Uncle Eddy with him wherever he went.

 

Bob built a long and respected career through his work with JM Condon Inc., Shea Concrete, Mystic Trans, E.A. Russell Trucking, French Trucking, and Brox Industries. He was proud of the work he did and the people he worked alongside, and he earned the respect of others through his reliability, strong work ethic, and steady presence. Whether on the road, at the jobsite, or behind the wheel of one of the trucks he loved, Bob approached his work with care and pride.

 

Outside of work, Bob embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of fun that those around him will always remember. He enjoyed water skiing and boating on Big Island Pond in Atkinson, New Hampshire, snow skiing at Pico Mt Vermont, snowmobiling, and riding his motorcycle. Some of his favorite times were trips to Sturgis, South Dakota and Daytona, Florida for bike week.  He also took great satisfaction in polishing his trucks, cars and motorcycles, finding joy in the details and in keeping the things he loved looking their best. His adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors reflected the way he lived his life, fully and without hesitation.

 

Bob will be remembered as loving, funny, and carefree, qualities that were evident to all who knew him. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his humor and warmth left a lasting impression on family, friends, and coworkers alike. He treasured time spent with those closest to him and took great pride in his family, which was the center of his life.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Girard Condon. He also leaves his daughters, Lindsey Condon Rodriguez and her husband Rob, and Brittni Condon and her fiancé Erik Dellanno. He was a proud stepfather to Nicholas Girard, as well as Brandon Girard and his wife Britni. He was a cherished grandfather to Liliana, Benicio, Juliette and Jaxon, and to Brea, Briley, Broc, and Briggs. Bob is survived by his brother, J. Ronald Condon and his wife Linda Condon of Methuen, Massachusetts, and his sister, Joanne Paris Wildes and her husband Stan Wildes of Atkinson, New Hampshire, and his in laws Paul and Janet Girard and family.

 

Bob’s memory will also be treasured by his nephews and niece, Jay Condon and his wife Colleen Condon of Salem, New Hampshire, along with their children Max and Avery; Darryl Condon and his fiancé Carrie Woessner of Hampstead, New Hampshire, along with their children Delaney, Jack, Olivia, and Ryan; and Emmy Paris and her wife Carrie Heincelman of Medford, Massachusetts, along with their children Bryce and Brady. He is also lovingly remembered by his dogs, Bruin and Maggie, who were faithful companions to him.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Condon, as well as his niece, Jaime Paris Dow and her surviving husband Dana Dow and children Cameron, Colby, Alton and Addison. Though his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him, Bob’s life will continue to be celebrated through the many memories, stories, and moments of laughter he shared with others.

 

Robert E. Condon’s life was one of dedication, adventure, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 27th from 4pm to 8pm at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday August 28th at 10:00 am. At the request of the family, the burial will be private.
