Nancy E. Woodward

Nancy E Woodward passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Nashua Post Acute Nursing Home.

The youngest daughter of the late H. Edward and Selma Cordts of Andover MA, Nancy was born in Teaneck NJ. She grew up in Andover where she was well known at the Andover Riding Academy where her beloved horse, Peppy, was boarded. Living in Salem, NH, for most of her adult life, Nancy befriended many members of the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church and the Auto Auction in Londonderry where she worked as a title clerk until she became ill. Nancy was also a member of the Salem Lions Club. She was always cheerful and giving of herself to others. She believed it wasn't good enough to just be friendly. One must also be a friend. Nancy was a poet, a wonderful cook, a painter and she loved to sew. There wasn't a hobby she wasn't willing to put her all into. She loved her friends, family, and food; often holding gatherings that often incorporated all three. Predeceased by her long-time partner, Edwin Foss, her sister and brother in-law Josephine and Robert Gearin, Nancy is survived by her sister and brother in-law Irene and Daniel Dumas of Atkinson, NH, nieces Maura Harper and Leslie Fonseca both of Haverhill, MA, Suzanne Miller of West Hartford, CT and nephews Alan Dumas of Ocala, FL, and Ed and Trevor Gearin both of Methuen, MA and many great nephews and great nieces.

Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation on Friday April 3, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am at the Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home 42 Main St., Salem, NH.
