Melyssa M. Flaherty – Salem, NH

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melyssa M. Flaherty on November 18th, 2024 at the age of 52. Melyssa was born in Revere MA. to Michael and Elaine Montecalvo.

Melyssa graduated from Lawrence High School and Franklin Pierce University and most recently worked as a Supervisor II Retail Choice for Liberty Utilities.

Melyssa is survived by her husband of 19 years, Christopher Flaherty, her daughter Jovanna, her father Mike Montecalvo Jr, her brother Michael Montecalvo III, her sister-in-law Wendy Bowen Montecalvo, her nephew Zachary Montecalvo, and her niece Samantha Montecalvo.

Melyssa lived her life the best she knew and left this earth wishing that her daughter would find comfort and safety in this world. Jovanna, her only child, was her entire world. Jovanna imbued her with strength during the difficult times, a constant source of pride in celebrating all of her accomplishments, as well as a regular source of laughter and joy.

Melyssa discovered she really enjoyed traveling, the Amalfi coast being her truest happy place. Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by those who truly loved whom she leaves behind.

Pursuant to Melyssa’s wishes she will be cremated instead of a funeral, and in lieu of a wake, a celebration of life will be held at Goundry Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem NH, 03079 on November 25, 2024 from 6-8PM.
