Marcelle A (Martin) Sykes

Marcelle A. Sykes, age 98 of Salem, NH., died peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 21, 2019. She was born and raised in Methuen. She was the daughter of Joseph Martin and Lucille Raymond. She worked many years as a secretary for the Town of Methuen until her retirement. She enjoyed quilting and playing the piano. She had a lifelong devotion to her family.

Marcelle was predeceased by her husband Robert, her daughter Brenda Murphy, and her four brothers Raymond, Joseph, Ronald and Richard. She is sadly missed and remembered by her son Robert and his wife Mary Addis of Mt Vernon, Ohio, daughters Penny Deschene and her husband Robert of Pelham, NH, Patricia Hanson and her husband Barry of No. Reading, MA., Carole Starner and her husband Paul of Salem NH, and her son in law Frank Murphy of York, ME. 18 Grandchildren, 31 Great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. The family would like to say thank you to Lisa from Amedysis Hospice for the care and compassion she provided to our mom.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11 AM from the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem NH., Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9 to 11 AM at the funeral home.
