Lucia L. Dubuc

Lucia L. Dubuc of Windham, NH, passed away from a long-term battle with cancer at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA. early Wednesday morning October 19, 2022.

She was born on September 5, 1939 in Santa Cruz, Graciosa, Acores Islands Portugal, daughter of the late Serafim and Argentina Silva. Lucia grew up in her early years in Graciosa Portugal, then immigrated to the US in 1954 where she resided and began nursing school in Cambridge Ma. Lucia was one of seven children. She was married to Leo E. Dubuc on August 11, 1961. Leo and Lucia moved to Windham, NH in 1974 and resided there until her death. Lucia is survived by sisters Maria Murphy of Andover, Ma, Nazarae Barchus of Amesbury, Ma., Natalie Donovan of Sandown, NH., and Cesarina Brown of Santa Cruz, California, sister-in-law Leontina Silva, her five children, Anita M. Kelley of Lee, NH., David E. Dubuc of Windham, NH., Christopher L. Dubuc of Derry, NH., Christine L. Dubuc of Manchester, NH., and Leo E. Dubuc of Hudson, NH. as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leo E. Dubuc, her brother Albert Silva and her sister Valdemir Kosmeh.

Lucia loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed gardening and cooking family holiday meals. She also had an extensive career working at Holy Family Hospital where she retired from after forty-seven years of service.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday October 28, 2022 from 10 am to Noon at the Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street Salem, NH. A memorial service will follow the calling hours at Noon on Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Eternal Light Mausoleum23 Pond Street Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, The Alzheimer’s Foundation, and American Cancer Society.
