Linda Bertorelli Obituary

Linda A. Bertorelli, 77, a long-time resident of Methuen, Massachusetts and lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 31st.

Born Linda Anne Padovani on October 16th, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Ines Padovanni of Bologna, Italy. They resided in the North End where Linda was educated in Catholic schools and is a graduate of the Julie Billiart High School class of 1961.

Following graduation, she furthered her education at The New England Banking Institute of Boston and went to work in the banking industry.

She married the late Erminio Bertorelli, of Parma, Italy in May of 1965.

After moving to Methuen in 1978, she was employed at Hewlett-Packard Medical/Philips Electronics in Andover, MA for 18 years.

She was a devout Catholic and over the years was a parishioner of St. Vincent’s in South Boston and later of St. Theresa’s in Methuen. She enjoyed visiting all area churches and rarely missed her weekly communion.

Linda was passionate about cooking and loved bringing people together with her amazing home-cooked meals.  She loved music, musicals, and was a big movie buff who knew her trivia on the subjects. She loved spending time with her family and friends and always brought humor and liveliness to every event.

She is survived by her son John Bertorelli, and fiance Liz McMeniman of Andover MA, daughter Ines and son-in-law Paul Leclerc, of Hudson, NH, daughter Anne and son-in-law Thom Smith of Auburn, NH, daughter Maria and son-in-law Johnny Basnett of Chester, NH, and daughter Francine and son-in-law Kevin Fisher of Merrimack, NH.

She is also survived by the pride and joy of her life, her grandchildren, Daniel and wife Stephanie Basnett, Nicholas Basnett, Cassandra (Hoyt) Bertorelli, Christopher Bertorelli, Brianna Becotte, Tyler Carter, Molly Smith, Levi Leclerc, Nathan McMeniman, and Nevik Fisher and her beautiful great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Henry Basnett.
