Karen J. Cleary – Salem, NH

Karen J. Cleary age 58 of Salem, NH passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Monday, August 30, 2021.  She was born on December 13, 1962 in Methuen, MA the daughter of the late, George and Mary (Boucher) Faucher.  She was raised and educated in Methuen and graduated from Methuen High School Class of 1980.

She worked for over 20 years as a self-employed residential home cleaner who built her business by word of mouth from her happy clients.

Karen loved gardening and had a “green thumb”.  She kept a flower and vegetable garden.  At one point she had over 96 varieties of tomato plants.  She also enjoyed shooting sports and was a lifetime member of the NRA.  As a younger woman she enjoyed spending time out on the water riding Jet Skis.  She had coached girl’s softball and had served on the Board of Directors of the Salem Girls Softball League.  Karen was also a huge Boston Red Sox fan.

Karen is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert Cleary of Salem, NH, her daughter, Dr. Megan Brown and husband, Jeffrey, her brother, David Faucher and wife, Lori of IA, her sister, Debbie Slater and husband, Frank of MO, her new born grandson, Lucas Brown of Salem, NH and her longtime childhood friend who cared for her towards the end of her life, Barbara Love of Methuen, MA.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as her beloved cats, Stephie and Love Bug.  Karen was predeceased by her beloved cats, Calie and Claudia.

Calling hours are Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave, Haverhill, MA 01832.  Please meet the family at the church.  Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in North Salem, NH.  At the family’s request, masks must be worn both at the funeral home as well as in church.  Please follow COVID-19 proto calls and social distancing.
