Joan Kathleen (McGuire) Doyle

Our dear mother Joan Kathleen Doyle, sadly passed away on June 27, 2022, at the age of 84. She was a wonderful mother who was completely devoted to her family. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to Peter and Josephine McGuire. She was predeceased by her husband, George R. Doyle and her parents Peter and Josephine McGuire, brothers Arthur Barbosa and Michael McGuire, sisters Rita and Emily Barbosa, and Mary McGuire, grandsons James and Jonathan Glover and is survived by her partner Wayne Hamilton her brother Patrick McGuire, and six children, daughter Joan Wightman, son James Glover and his wife Amber, Daughter Bonnie Martineau and her husband Raymond, son Michael Doyle and his wife Lisa, daughter Kathleen Jeffrey and her husband Jay, and son David Doyle and his wife Kelly.  She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren Shawn Wightman, Adam Wightman, Kellie Butler, Erin Martin, Michael Wightman, Christopher Wightman, Joey Glover, Jeremy Glover, Nancy Glover, Ryan and Justin Martineau, Cassandra Doyle, Jason Marcoux, and Scott Doyle.  She also has many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joan attended school in Lowell, Massachusetts and graduated from Lowell High School.  She worked as an assembly technician for many years at Raytheon where she met her late husband George. She loved and cherished spending time with her family most but also enjoyed decorating and cooking. Joan’s kitchen table was well known to many, always an open door and extra plate available.  She loved the holidays, especially Christmas.  Saturday mornings were spent cleaning the house followed by yard sales and shopping for home decor. 

Mom will be missed tremendously though her unconditional and everlasting love will remain alive within her children and all those who knew her.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to a Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish-St. Theresa’s Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA 01844.  Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.  At the request of the family, there are no calling hours.
