Jeanette M. Demers

Jeanette Martha Demers, affectionately known as GiGi, passed away peacfully on August 28, 2024, at the age of 84 in Methuen, Massachusetts. Born on August 9, 1940, in Buena Vista, Wisconsin, to Edward Gosh and Laura Shulfer, Jeanette grew up with a deep-rooted sense of family values and instilled that in all her children.

Jeanette was a kind, sweet, loving, sincere, and funny individual who cherished her family deeply. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Raymond Demers, a loving mother to Dean and his wife Collette, Glenn and his wife Lauren, Deanna Demers, and Kerri D'Agostino and her wife Amy. A loving grandma to her grandchildren, Melissa Ste Marie, Jeremy and Joshua Demers, Annabelle Weisman-Demers, Cassandra Demers, Jonathan Demers, Jessica Demers, Jenny Greene, Matthew Hemmerdinger, Ryan and Carli Demers, Joe Chenard, Eva D'Agastino. A cherished Great-Grandmother to her Great Grandchildren, Kellen and Kendall Ste Marie, Charles, Andrew and Savannah Demers, River and Wilder Weisman-Demers, Olivia Demers, Caiden, Madelyn and William Vanbogelen, Emma and Mia Hernandez, Jackson, Grayson, and Nora Greene and Khymber Allen.

Jeanette's educational journey began at St. Leo's in Wisconsin and continued at North Division High School. Her career spanned various roles, including positions at Raytheon and the IRS, and she took great pride in her role as a homemaker, ensuring her family was always cared for and loved.

Her faith was an important aspect of her life, actively participating in St. Theresa's Church and Granite United Church. Jeanette also had a passion for cooking, baking, canning, and preserving. She enjoyed gambling on her slots and playing Razzle Dazzle and Bingo, panning for gold. She was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed beating everyone she played at 45's and scrabble. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her travels, from the Florida Keys to Alaska and various national parks, with her loving husband by her side in their camper. She enjoyed many summers at the camp her husband built in Twin Mountain NH. She enjoyed sharing her secret recipes with her daughters and daughters-in-law and teaching them her cooking techniques. Family traditions were very important to her and she hosted all the special holidays every year. Fourth of July celebrations at the camp and big family breakfasts.

Jeanette is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren..She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, her sisters Leona and Eleanor, and her brothers Gerald and Clifford.

Calling hours to honor Jeanette's life will be held at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St. Salem, NH, on Wednesday September 11, 2024, from 4:00 to 5:30pm.  A brief service will be held at 5:30 pm at the funeral home.The family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her remarkable life and legacy.
