Jean Marie (Bernier) Rees – Salem, NH

Jean Marie (Bernier) Rees passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, NH. Jean was born on October 8, 1942 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was educated in the Andover MA schools and was a lifelong resident of Salem, NH. Jean married Frank Rees on August 11, 1963 and soon welcomed two sons.

From her early days as a hairdresser, bakery manager at Purity Supreme, and Butcher Boy, Jean loved to work. Her final job at Salemhaven proved to be her calling. Jean loved working with her friends and colleagues at Salemhaven. For her, it wasn’t work at all. Jean enjoyed dressing in costumes, singing karaoke and providing Sunday tea with fresh baked coffee cakes. Jean’s beloved grandsons were her greatest joy. She loved hearing their stories, and spending time with them.

 Jean was predeceased by her parents, Roland and Celina (Delescluse) Bernier, and her brother James Bernier. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank Rees; her son Michael and his wife Renee of Hooksett, NH, her son, Daniel and his wife, Lynn of Chester, NH, her grandsons, Alexander and his wife Jaclyn of Newbury, MA, Benjamin of Salt Lake City, UT, Shawn of Hooksett, NH and Brandon of Hooksett, NH, her brother Roland W. and his wife Cecilia Bernier of Ocoee, FL, her sister-in-law Barbara Bernier of Concord, NH along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
