Jayne (Cormier) Roy

Jayne Roy - February 23, 1954 - November 14, 2023

Jayne was a wonderful lady who was loved by her family, friends and the customers of her stained glass studio, Absolute Glass in Methuen, MA. Her love for her family and her friends  was only rivaled by her love of making stained glass. A passionate artist and crafts woman who seemed to have an endless reserve of creativity and shared whole heartedly with anyone who entered her stained glass studio. She gave many donations such as the five corners fire station “Fire Man Saving Girl” stained glass window and her mosaic creations along the Methuen Rail trail. Giving back to the community was important to her.

Antiquing allowed her to find inspiration for her art with found objects, not necessarily glass, and restoring old broken stained glass windows and Lamps. She loved reading, especially mysteries and laughing with her husband, Bert while watching comedies on TV. They just celebrated their fiftieth anniversary by traveling to Italy.

Her family will continue her legacy as long as they can by keeping her beloved shop open. It’s giving them purpose in this sad time, as well as, a way to remember her dreams; her “Hobby Gone Wild”.

Her children have fond memories of her from their childhood and will remember a mom who was always there for them with boundless love and a fun spirit, but who knew how to put them in their place when necessary. Her fiery sprit will live on in those who remember her kindness and her deep love for friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Bert; their daughter, Laurie and her husband, Dave; son, Marc and his wife Mary; and grandchildren; Michael, Anya, Alex, Adalia, Emily, Maille, Erin, Patrick, Aidan, and Avery. She will be greatly missed.
