James Edward Rowe, Sr.

James Edward Rowe, Sr. – Salem, NH

James (Jim) was born in Malden, MA on August 10, 1929.  He passed away peacefully at Greystone Farms in Salem, NH. on May 14, 2020.  He was a lifelong resident of Stoneham, MA.

He was the beloved husband of the late Lois (Sleeper) and devoted son of William and Matilda (Tillie LaPointe) Rowe. He is preceded in death by his two sisters and two brothers. He was a longtime loving companion to the late Anita Mobilia.

Jim is survived by his four daughters, son, daughter in law, and son in law, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army (187th Glider Division) during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.  He had many friends and enjoyed a full life.  He enjoyed   playing golf and he could always be found singing, dancing and joking around.  He always loved being surrounded by his family and friends.

 Jim worked for the Singer Sewing Company for many years before he opened his own store in Stoneham, MA.  He also made drapes and would re-upholster just about anything.  His Cremation and private graveside services are entrusted to Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home in Salem, NH.    In-Lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
