Jacqueline Ouellette Obituary

Jacqueline B. Ouellette – Salem, NH

Jacqueline B. Ouellette, 88, of Salem, NH, died peacefully on August 1, 2025 at Penacook Place Nursing Home, after a long battle with dementia.

Born in Lawrence, MA, Jackie was a woman of independence and strength. Her zest for life and her ability to do things on her own terms were evident to all who knew her.

Jackie was renowned for her passion for animals, particularly German Shepherd dogs, which she trained and bred with care and excellence for many years. Her love for these noble creatures was matched by her expertise, and she became a well-respected figure among canine enthusiasts. Her legacy in the training and breeding community is marked by the countless awards and recognition she received, but more importantly, by the healthy, happy dogs that brought joy to so many families.

Jackie's compassion extended beyond her four-legged friends. She opened her heart and her home as a foster parent, providing a safe haven for numerous children over the years. Her ability to offer warmth, guidance, and stability to those in her care made a lasting impact on many lives. Her life was a portrait of service and love, and her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Ouellette, and her parents and siblings. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Wallace and husband Ed of Derry, NH; sons Steven Ouellette and wife Nancy of North Andover, MA, and Kevin Ouellette of Derry, NH. Eight grandchildren, Michael, Jaime, Jonathan, Christopher, Shane, Chloe, Briseis and Emile along with a community of friends, foster children, and the many lives she touched.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the nurses, aides, volunteers and other staff members at Penacook Place, for their compassionate care of Jackie during the past 3 years.  Dementia never robbed Jackie of her sense of humor, and every staff member there bore the brunt of one of her pranks over the years!

The family also wishes to thank the Elara Caring Nurses and Aides for their unwavering love and care during Jackie’s journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie's memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

There will be no calling hours at Jackie’s request. Interment at the New Hampshire Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH, with her late husband George, and a celebration of her life will follow at a later date, where all will be welcome to share memories of this extraordinary woman.
