He went on to work as a mechanic in several different Automotive Shops. His favorite job was working with his Uncle Matt at Dick’s Auto during his Senior Year until he left for Wyotech. He was most recently employed by Local 7 Iron Workers Union of Boston, and he really enjoyed this job. His welding skills were unparalleled.
Jacob did all the things that children and teenagers do. He played T-ball, Little League, he also played local soccer and was on a traveling soccer team for one season. He played football on the Jets and Freshman football at Amesbury High. He was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout. Jacob was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and fully participated in the life of his Church. Jacob attended Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center during the summers as a camper. He would go there for a week and when we picked him up, he asked if he could come back the next week. Then following in his mother’s footsteps, he became a Lifeguard and worked at the Waterfront at BCH. He was also an active member of the Diocesan Youth Council for a number of years. He made some lifelong friends, one of which was the Reverend Rob Bacon, they shared some great talks together and some good music. In high school his biggest fan and mentor was Mr. Ralph Noon, he was instrumental in helping to ensure that Jacob graduated from High School, because if you know Jacob, he didn’t like school much.
Jacob was a kind, loving soul, his laughter was contagious. His smile would light up the room. He was an adoring and devoted Uncle. His nieces and nephew always looked forward to seeing their uncle and he never failed at putting a smile on their faces. He was a devout Bruins fan and would always jump at the opportunity to attend a game. His smile could light up a room and brighten even the darkest of days. He was phenomenal at cracking a joke and following it with his infectious laughter.
