Howard E. Haywood

Howard E. Haywood, age 89 of Salem, New Hampshire passed away at his home Thursday, April 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. 

Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Howard enjoyed going back home for hunting and fishing trips with his brothers, and making yearly trips in August to spend time with his entire family. 

Howard worked in the produce industry for many years and his retiring years at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Salem, New Hampshire until he got sick with cancer. He was well loved by the faculty and the students of the school. The kids referred to him as Mr. Howard. Howard touched everyone’s heart he met, by his kind words and warm smile. 

He was a devoted and caring man and will be missed by his wife Josephine (Dolly) Haywood of 61 years of marriage. Also grieving are his children Donna (Marc), Howard Jr. (Rosanne) and Mary (David), his grandchildren Stephanie, Christina, Jonathan and Christopher, siblings Ross (Norah), Ernie (Bonnie), Diane (Wayne), Mary (Harold), Lorraine (Bryce), Tommy (Darlene), Ray, and Mel, brother-in-law Bill, Aunt Gert and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother Helen and father Hilton, brothers, Cyril, Sam and Carl, sister Patricia; and sister-in-law Bernice.

You left our lives, but not our hearts.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Services will be held in Guysborough, Nova Scotia when all US/Canada Covid19 restrictions are suspended.
