Gail DeLucia – Needham, MA
Longtime Methuen resident Gail DeLucia passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Katie Swenson, and her husband Erik, along with their children Lucas, Zack, and Brooke; her son, Wayne Simone, and his wife Kelly, and their son Cody. Gail also leaves behind a large circle of devoted family and friends who supported her throughout her journey.
Born in Methuen, MA on September 29, 1956, Gail was the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmen DeLucia. A proud member of the Tenney High School Class of 1974, Gail remained actively involved in the reunion committee and was dedicated to staying connected with former classmates and friends.
For more than 30 years, Gail worked at Pleasant Valley Dental, where she was appreciated by coworkers and patients alike for her friendliness and dedication.
Gail’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother, lovingly known as “Grammy” or “Gigi.” She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether sharing quiet days at home or creating treasured memories at her beloved retreat in Maine, a place filled with laughter, love, and the comfort of family.
Gail loved entertaining and cooking for those she loved, firmly believing a good meal could solve any problem. Always thoughtful, she never missed a chance to send a card or let someone know they were on her mind.
Gail will be remembered for her generous spirit, her deep love for her family, and the way she touched the lives of all who knew her. Her presence will be profoundly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be held to honor Gail’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH is entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.goundreydewhirstfuneral.com to sign the online guest book.
