Gail Bennett Corcoran – Salem, NH
Gail was a devoted grandmother and mother with a strong commitment to her family, close friends and neighbors. She was also an active member of her community and never shied away from a cause that was close to her heart. She treasured the many friendships made through these causes and as a long-time resident of Salem.
Her passions included her grandchildren, cooking, gardening and skiing. She loved to share seeds from the flowers in her garden and spread those far and wide to family and friends.
Service and faith were also important pillars of her life. She was active in Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church in Salem, NH, served as a Board member of the Center for Life Management and Director and Chair of Friends of the PHIL at the NH Philharmonic Orchestra. She volunteered at and enjoyed spending time with the Salem Senior Center, Salem Caregivers and more recently, the Salem Dems. She was a past Board member of Dollars for Scholars.
For over 20 years, Gail had her own successful business as a human resource consultant to non-profits and small businesses in Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Prior to that, she served as Personnel Director at Gibco Laboratories. Gail graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Vermont College and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Behavior at Lesley College.
Gail was born and raised in Amsterdam, NY by her parents, the late Mary Bennett Rowley and Joseph Bennett.
In addition to her daughter, Brandy Corcoran Carlson, her husband, Paul Carlson and grandchildren, Henry, Renee, Emily and Jack, she is survived by her dear friend and companion, Gerald Little, and her cousin, Robert Grzeskowiak, his wife Cheryl and son, Brian, Gloria Beddow and her husband, Peter, their children, Adrienne Boerger, Peter Beddow III, and their spouses and children. She was predeceased by her son, Derrick Corcoran.
Her energy, enthusiasm and generous spirit will be missed. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11 AM at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, 171 Zion Hill Road, Salem, NH 03079. Please send all flower deliveries directly to the church.
