Everett A. Jacobs – Salem, NH
On Thursday, September 16, 2021, Everett “Jake” A. Jacobs passed away in the early morning at his home at the age of 85.
Everett was born on August 29, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to Ancil and Catherine (Riemel) Jacobs. He went to Michigan State and later New Hampshire College to get his bachelor’s degree.
He married the love of his life Florence “Peg” O’Neil in 1960. They moved to San Diego where Everett was a Navy Hospital Corpsman. They had two children, a son David and daughter Debra.
He worked for the Postal Service as a mailman in Michigan then was promoted to Postal Inspector where he moved to New England and retired from in 1989. He shortly thereafter worked at B.J’s Wholesale Club in the cash room. His hobbies included lighthouses, Buyer’s Choice Carolers, coins and stamp collecting.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife Florence. He was survived by his two children, David Jacobs of Little Hocking, Ohio and Debra (Jacobs) Kfoury and her husband William of Salem, NH. His grandchildren Elizabeth (Kfoury) Nehme and her husband Elie of Haverhill, MA, Christopher Kfoury of Salem, NH, and great grandson Benjamin, his sister June MacBride and her husband Bob of Hartland, Michigan, sister in law Barbara Brown of South Carolina and was preceded in death by his sister Judy McKay of Michigan. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with his family and his dear friend Natalie who recently passed and her family.
Calling hours are Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4 - 7 PM at Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A Service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial with U.S. Navy Honors will follow the service in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St. in Salem, NH.
