Elizabeth “Liz” Bider – Salem, NH

Elizabeth “Liz” Bider, lovingly known as Mom and Yaya, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 2, 1946, in Lowell, Massachusetts, and lived a life defined by faith, kindness, and unconditional love. Liz was a devoted Christian whose gentle spirit and caring heart touched everyone she met.

She attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell and enjoyed a career with IRS Criminal Investigation, where she was known for her integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic. Above all, Liz loved her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Bider of Salem, New Hampshire; her daughters, Bridget Long of Naples, Florida; Brenda LaPlant and her husband, Michael, of Pelham, New Hampshire; and Bonnie Jacques and her husband, David, of Salem, New Hampshire. She was a proud and devoted Yaya to Bella and Cody Long, Owen, Kyle, and Ryan LaPlant, and David and Victoria Jacques. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Liz found happiness in life’s simple moments. She loved going to the movies with Mark, spending time with her family, and making everyone around her feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Her warmth, gentle smile, and generous heart will be deeply missed.

Although her family is heartbroken, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace reunited with her parents she loved so deeply. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Calling hours are Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 4 – 7 PM at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 40 Main Street in Salem, NH. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH. The Family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
