Elaine Napoli Obituary

Elaine M. (Smith) Napoli, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully, after a courageous bout with Alzheimer’s on April 5, 2026, at her home in the loving presence of her family. Born on March 10, 1948, in Lawrence, Massachusetts.  She was the cherished daughter of the late Phillip Smith and Margaret (Peever) Smith

Elaine lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to those around her. Elaine was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School and went on to pursue a career as a licensed hairdresser and graduated from Essex Agricultural School.  Her talents and dedication were not confined to the Salon and Nursing Homes, as she also made significant contributions in the medical records field at Lawrence General Hospital. Her professional life was marked by a dedication to excellence and a warmth that she extended to everyone she encountered.

Elaine was a woman of remarkable qualities, known for her kindness and generosity. Her home was always open to those in need, and she had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. She was a second mother to many of her children's friends, offering them guidance and support. Elaine found tranquility in simple pleasures—watching movies at home, spending time with her beloved cats, Lexi and Khloe, and sharing laughter with her family.

Elaine's greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life to them with unwavering love and care. She is survived by her son, Alan who was the light of her life, and she found immense pleasure tending to his needs. Her daughters, Lori Napoli-Lee, with her husband Bob, and Elaine Napoli-Lavoie, with her husband Gilles, were her pride and joy. Elaine's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Ashley Napoli and her fiancé Danny Amaral, Devin Lavoie and her fiancé Shawn Toomey, and Travis Anthony Lee who brought her endless delight. Her life was further enriched by her great-grandchildren, Jayce, Elliana, (expected to arrive this month) Landon, Declan, and McKenna, who filled her days with laughter and love. She is also survived by her brother Phillip (Alan) Smith and his wife Georgette, Sister-in-law Susan Traficante and husband John, sister-in-law Lisa Rosenberg and husband Neil, her many dear nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend Denise Culbert and Robyn Dion who was like a daughter.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband, George Napoli, as well as her brothers, Robert, Leonard, Charles Smith, and her brother-in-law Richard Napoli.
