Eileen R. Proulx

Eileen R. Proulx, 94, of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.

Eileen grew up in North Andover, MA. the daughter of the late Mary (Martel) and Odilon Proulx. She graduated from Johnson High School in  North Andover and later moved to Salem. She began her working career at the Charlestown Navy Yard. She later worked at Bay State Bank and then for many years in the accounting department at Raytheon until her retirement. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH and the National Association of Accountants. She was an avid golfer and bowler and she enjoyed playing cards. Eileen loved to travel and she traveled extensively around the world. She was like a second mother to her 3 nephews and a doting grand Aunt to her great nieces.

Eileen is survived by her nephews, Dennis McCarthy and his wife Marilyn of Salem, NH., and Francis McCarthy of Danvers, MA., Three grand nieces, Allison Carvalho and her husband Luiz of Haverhill, MA., Meredith McCarthy of Lowell, MA. and Paige Petroni and husband Jared of Lawrence, MA. She was predeceased by her nephew Thomas McCarthy, her sister, Mary Jane McCarthy, and her brother in law Thomas McCarthy.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 9 to 10:30 at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH., 03079. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM in Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover, MA.
