Dr. Kathleen Marie Walsh – Tewksbury, MA

With deep sorrow and profound respect, we announce the passing of Dr. Kathleen Marie Walsh, a beloved nurse of over 50 years, who passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025 at the age of 75.

Born on January 13, 1950 in Medford, MA and raised in Salem, NH, Kathy—as she was affectionately known—was the cherished daughter of William and Olive Todd. She lived a life marked by strength, compassion, and unwavering service to others.

For nearly 30 years, Kathy worked tirelessly as a Case Manager in the Emergency Department at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2009, she earned her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Connecticut—a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and excellence in care. Kathy was known not only for her exceptional skills, but also for her steadfast dedication to patient care, her generous spirit, and a radiant humor that brought comfort and joy to those around her.

But Kathy’s greatest fulfillment came from her family. She was a devoted mother to Patrick and Kelley, and a proud grandmother to Lillian. With a large extended family, Kathy had a remarkable knack for remembering every birthday—never missing a call or card, and always reminding others to do the same.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Kevin Walsh of Tewksbury, MA; her son, Patrick Walsh of Salem, NH; and her daughter, Kelley Walsh, son-in-law, Nassib Adas, and granddaughter, Lillian Adas, of Reading, MA. She also leaves behind three sisters, Donna DiZazzo of Pelham, NH, Debbie Beaudreault of Westford, MA, and Michele Edwards of Salem, NH; her brothers, Mike Todd of Pelham, NH and Jeffrey Todd of Newburyport, MA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her. She was predeceased by her older brother, Billy Todd of Newburyport, MA.

A wake will be held on June 12, 2025 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home in Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on June 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m at St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Kathy’s honor.
