Douglas Phillip Crooker – Hampstead, NH

Douglas P. Crooker, age 69 of Hampstead, NH former longtime resident of Lynn and Ipswich, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.  He was born on June 11, 1950 in Lynn the son of the late Joseph P. and Verlie E. (Merrill) Crooker.  He was raised in Lynn, MA and was a graduate of Lynn Public Schools.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged.  Doug worked for the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission for over 30 years.

He was a classic car enthusiast, loved camping, travelling with his wife, and being with his family.  Doug was a fan of music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.  He was a very social person and enjoyed meeting new people wherever he went.  He resided in Ipswich, MA for 18 years and lived in Hampstead, NH for the past 4 years.

Doug is survived by his beloved Wife of 37 years, Maureen (Grant) Crooker of Hampstead, NH, his children, Ryan Crooker and his wife Nilcea of Sandown, NH, Erin (Crooker) Walker and her husband Douglas of Newton, NH and Lindsay (Crooker) Mazariego of Maine.  His siblings, Loretta (Crooker) Tenaglia of Peabody, MA, Gail (Crooker) Rollins of Peabody, MA, and Linda (Crooker) Stodder of Florida.  4 grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and brother and sisters-in-law also survive him.  He was predeceased by his sister, Betty (Crooker) Gallant of Leominster, MA.  At the request of the family there are no calling hours and Funeral Services will be private.  In-lieu of flowers, please make donations to:  The National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/donation or American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org/donate Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079 is entrusted with the arrangements.  Please visit www.goundreydewhirstfuneral.com to sign the online guest book.
