Doris M. Chocquette – Salem, NH
Doris M. Choquette, of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, July 26, at Salemhaven Nursing Home with her daughters by her side.
Doris retired from Western Electric after many years as a supervisor. She then worked for the Salem School District as a cafeteria person, a job she enjoyed. Known as “Mam” to all, she loved to host family gatherings at her home especially Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter.
Mam loved to travel. She visited many states including Hawaii and Alaska. She also traveled to Bermuda and Canada, and enjoyed a trip to Switzerland and Germany. But her favorite vacations were to Disney World with her grandchildren and to Las Vegas with her daughters.
Doris’s family would like to thank the staff at Salemhaven for the loving, attentive care they bestowed on our mother. They were there for us as well providing support and guidance along the way.
Doris is survived by her daughters Andrea Hamel of Salem, NH, and Paulette Redmond wife of Ed Redmond also of Salem, NH. Grandchildren, Richard Hamel and wife Diana of Southborough, MA; Edward Redmond and wife Kathleen of Sandown, NH; Christopher Redmond of Newmarket, NH; Elizabeth Stacy and husband Jeffery of Portsmouth, NH; Dawn McGuire and husband Joshua of Salem, NH; and Michael Redmond of Newfields, NH. She also leaves 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul Savoie, and her beloved husband of 39 years Norman Choquette. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law Richard Hamel and her sister and brother-in-law Rose and Jim Choquette; as well as her siblings, Ida Floyd, Hilda Gagnon, Georgianna Pienta, Irene Bouchard, Arthur Arsenault, and Gerald Arsenault.
She will be forever in out hearts and will be missed terribly.
Calling hours are Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A funeral service will take place following the calling hours at the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.
