Donna Landry

Donna Lou (Ritter) Landry, 90, of Salem, NH, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with loving family by her side.

She was born on September 14, 1935 in Methuen, MA. Donna worked for many years as a dietary aide, most recently at Salemhaven, until her retirement in 2020. Prior to Salemhaven, she also worked at Warde Senior Living Center as a dietary aide.  Donna was always a very hard worker and prior to Salemhaven, she worked for many years at Hadco, Dunkin Donuts and Western Electric.  She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially at cookouts and parties, going to Rockingham Race Track, taking trips to the beach and watching the Price is Right. Donna was also a talented musician, playing the organ at Salemhaven, the VFW and other local places.  In addition to her musical talent, she was an expert cake decorator making many wedding and birthday cakes.    

Donna is survived by her daughters Brenda Cahill and her husband James and Cindy Palermo and her husband Will; her daughter-in-law Lynn Landry; her grandchildren Amanda Landry, Amy Rust, Matthew Landry, Melissa Cahill, Melanie Cahill, James Cahill, Dominic Palermo and Gabriella Palermo; her great-grandchildren Savannah and Caoilainn Cahill; and her siblings Malcom Schiebel, Ervin Schiebel, Neil Schiebel, Marilyn Mulchahey, Henry Schiebel, Junior, and Beverly Eddings. 

She is predeceased by her son Allen Landry, daughter Dianne Gilchrist, Aunt Dora Dietel, Uncle Ernest Dietel, brother Richard Schiebel, mother Chrystal Schiebel and companion Norman “Peter” Reynolds.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery Salem, NH.
