Donald A. Hillerby, 84 of Salem, NH passed away suddenly September 25, 2021 leaving his family devastated.
Don was born on July 24th, 1937 in Methuen Massachusetts, born to the late John and Emma ( Margerison ) Hillerby. Brother of the late John C. Hillerby.
Don graduated from Tenney High School, class of 1956. He worked warehousing at Honeywell in Lawrence for 20 years. He then went on to work as custodian at Windham Middle School, where he retired after 10 years.
He was a regular customer at Rockingham Park and loved his yearly trips to Saratoga Race Track in New York, Las Vegas and Florida.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Joan Hillerby of Salem, NH.a Son, Donald Hillerby of Haverhill, MA, two daughters, Maureen Beauvais and husband Paul of Haverhill, MA and Stacy Caruso and husband David of Bradford, MA.9 Stepchildren, David Taschereau of Fitzburg, MA. Daniel Taschereau and wife Cheryl of Derry, NH. Dean Taschereau of Pittsfield, NH. Doreen Taschereau of Boyston, MA. Douglas Taschereau of Epsom, NH. Dawn Coakley and husband Barry of Derry, NH. Dale Taschereau and wife Penny of Rochester, NH. Dana Tisbert of Epsom, NH and the late Deborah Taschereau.
Don had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Don will be missed by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. His smile and laughter was always infectious.
Don was a New England fan, loving the Patriots, The Red Sox, The Bruins and the Celtics! He loved to watch all the games and even better if he could bet on the winner! He also loved the horse races and enjoyed picking a winner!
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday October 1, 2021 from 4pm to 6 pm at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. A celebration of Life will be held following the calling hours from 6 pm to 10 pm at the community center at 44 Millville Street, Salem, NH.
