Debra Morin Obituary

Debra C. (Croteau) Morin, affectionately known as Debbie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at Lawrence General Hospital on May 21, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 4, 1956 in Lawrence, Massachusetts.  Debbie was predeceased by her husband, Jean-Louis Morin, whom she loved dearly. She was also predeceased by her parents, William and Bertha (Labonte) Croteau, her brother, Donald Croteau, and her sister-in-law, Susan Croteau. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

She is survived by her sister, Susan and her husband, Ronald Gingras; her brother, Stephen Croteau and his longtime girlfriend, Diana Loder; her brother, Michael Croteau, and his wife, Tracey Croteau; her son, Mark Croteau; and her stepson, Eric Morin and his wife, Jennifer Morin. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will carry forward their own treasured memories of her.

Debbie grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. Her work as a cook at Salem Haven reflected the same care and discipline she brought to the rest of her life. In the kitchen, Debbie was dependable, focused, and took pride in preparing meals with care and dedication. Her work ethic and steady presence earned the respect of those around her, and she carried herself with the quiet confidence of someone who knew the value of doing a job well. Debbie elevated organization to an art form, a trait admired by everyone who knew her.

Debbie found joy in the simple moments that became lasting memories. Debbie was an avid lover of the beach. She especially loved early mornings with friends at Hampton, where the quiet start of the day, the sound of the water, and the company of good friends created a setting she truly cherished. She also enjoyed spending time at the coffee shop with friends, where conversation and laughter came easily. She found peace and serenity on the back porch in Canada where she could sit, relax, and enjoy the sunshine. She cherished the memories of riding motorcycles with her husband and friends. These moments reflected who she was at heart. She appreciated companionship, peaceful surroundings, and the kind of everyday experiences that become most meaningful over time.

Debbie's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but the countless memories she created will continue to comfort her family and friends. Her memory will remain with those who knew her as a bright and steady presence, a woman whose funny spirit, and courageous heart made her truly one of a kind.
