Obituary

Clermont Chouinard, 74, of Salem,NH passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on January 26, 2023  at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.  He was born on November 7, 1948 in Notre Dame Du Lac, Quebec, Canada to the late Juliette (Beaupre) Chouinard and the late Herve Chouinard. Clermont was a long-time resident of Salem,NH.

He is predeceased by his wife and love of his life for 45 years Ginette (Ouellet) Chouinard. He was a loving father to Karen Chouinard of Candia,NH; Kenny Chouinard and his wife Erin of Salem,NH. Treasured and much loved Pepere to his grandchildren Gavin Clermont Ward of Candia, NH, Molly Mae and Callie Ginette Chouinard of Salem, NH.

He is predeceased by his two brothers Berthier and Benoit Chouinard of Notre Dame Du Lac, Quebec, Canada and sister Jeannine Chouinard and  her husband Real Migneault of Saint Honore de Temiscouata, Quebec, Canada.

He leaves behind his siblings Berthile Chouinard and her late husband Guy Ouellet of Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Canada; Carmen Chouinard and late Maurice Gingras of Granby, Quebec, Canada, and Denis Chouinard and his wife Louiselle of Hampstead,NH. He also leaves behind his god-daughter Paige Ouellet-Rodrigue, many nieces and nephews as well as friends who he viewed as family.

Clermont was a skilled and proud brick mason working with many local companies during his career. He took great pride in showing his children and grandchildren all the chimneys and steps he had built in the area. Clermont loved nothing more than bringing in wood and building a roaring fire. If you've ever visited the Chouinard home, you've definitely experienced the heat!

He loved travelling to Canada to visit friends and family. Although not a fan of the sun, he also enjoyed spending time visiting friends and family in Florida. He enjoyed hosting parties in his garage, always full of music, corn, and a makeshift dance floor full of friends and family. Clermont will be best remembered for always giving a helping hand to anyone who asked, whether family, a friend, or even strangers he met while sitting in Dunkin Donuts. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him but we know he is reunited with his best friend and wife enjoying a home cooked meal and big fire.
