Christopher J. “Chris” Marggraf – Dover, NH
Christopher J. “Chris” Marggraf, age 21 of Dover, NH passed away suddenly on Monday, May 30, 2022 in Canterbury, NH. Chris was born on June 20, 2000 in Methuen, MA the son of Robert T. and Paula J. (Snyder) Marggraf. He was raised and educated in Dover, NH and graduated from Dover High School, Class of 2018.
Chris worked various jobs in the greater Dover area, most recently he was employed by Mosquito Shield in Barrington, NH.
He was a kindhearted and gentle soul who yearned to have a close-knit group of friends. Chris was a person who would give the shirt off his back if someone else was in need. He was trusting to a fault, but he was always there if a friend needed help. Chris was an extremely intelligent young man who loved to work with his hands. He had a passion for woodworking, and he had crafted some beautiful custom pieces over the years. From a young age Chris struggled with mental illness but he would always advocate for others who were also struggling.
Chris had a true love of the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and taking long hikes in the woods in the Dover area, especially along the trails around Willand Pond or at Vaughan Woods in South Berwick, ME. He loved to go fishing and he was a very skilled archer and pistol shooter. Chris was never more comfortable than when he was spending time with his friends or family in the outdoors.
Chris is survived by his parents, Robert and Paula Marggraf of Dover, NH, his brothers, Major Matthew B. Marggraf and his wife, Christina (Costello) of CO and Benjamin P. Marggraf and his wife, Kathryn (Grant) of CO, his paternal grandfather, Paul E. Marggraf of Methuen, MA, his nephew, Thomas “Tommy” Marggraf and his niece, Lillian “Lilly” Marggraf. Chris is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and very special friends who loved him beyond words!
