Christine Y. Vakalis (Fredette) – Salem, NH
Christine Y. Vakalis (Fredette), 82 of Salem, NH, passed away June 14, 2020 after bravely fighting the COVID-19 virus.
Christine was born on January 19, 1938 in Lawrence, MA. She was the daughter of the late Exilda Jeanne Joy (Fredette, Rondeau) and the late Alfred Fredette. Christine attended school in Lawrence and graduated from St. Anne's High School in the Class of 1956. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, James Vakalis.
Christine loved the beach, especially road trips along the coast of Maine with her husband Jim. She enjoyed word puzzles, game shows and Lottery scratch tickets.
Christine was a natural caretaker. She spent many years selflessly caring for ill family members, from her own mother, her many aunts and in the end of his life, she gave her husband Jim the best of herself.
Christine's greatest joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was full of life and loved them immensely. She cherished the time she spent with her family and could not have been prouder of their accomplishments.
Christine will be greatly missed by her daughters, Donna Clark (Castricone) of Stratham NH, Lisa Sarcione (Castricone) and husband Michael of Methuen, MA, and her son John Castricone Jr. and his wife Sharon of Pinellas Park, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christine Jozitis and her partner Jessi Lindie of Waltham MA, Allison Jozitis and her partner Kieran Martin of Mendocino CA, Heather Sarcione of FL, Bill Dickey and his fiance Katie Quale of Londonderry NH, and Tiffany Sarcione and her partner Matt Rodican of Londonderry NH. She will also be missed by her six adoring great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Dustin, Leah, Ava and Logan, as well as her many cousins.
