Catherine Barreira

We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Catherine Barreira, of Tewksbury, MA, at the age of 90.  Our mother, Catherine Claire Murphy, was born in 1932. She is the middle child of 13 siblings, who have all gone before her. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, an aunt, and a friend. Her proudest title was "Nana".

She is survived by her children: David Barreira of Salem, NH; Susan Trani and her husband Jack of Tewksbury, MA; and Erin Knyff and her husband Adrian of Tewksbury, MA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juvenal Barreira, her daughter, Maureen Palermo, and her son, Joseph Barriera. She was proudly the Nana of 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday, May 19th at 11:00 am at Saint Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, MA. With a celebration to follow at Sam Walker's American Tavern, 1 Rainin Road (off Montvale Ave), Woburn, MA.
