Carol A. Walker – Salem, NH

Carol A. Walker, age 79, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her sons, Dan Sullivan of Salem, NH and Shawn Sullivan of Dracut, MA, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

She was born in Somerville, MA, on January 22, 1943, to Helen Squires and Joseph Squires. She was the second oldest of five children, whom were raised by her mother.

Carol met her late husband Calvin R. Walker at work, W.R. Grace, in Cambridge, MA. Together they raised her sons in Arlington, MA., until retirement in 1998. Carol and Cal relocated to Salem, NH to begin their Golden Years of Retirement. They lived happily together for 26 years, until Cal's passing in 2002.

Carol Loved her family and shopping. She was a caring woman who spent most of her time thinking about others. She was most comfortable when surrounded by family. Her heart and door were always open to each one of her family members, in which she held a place in her heart for each of them.

Always smiling, with a kind word and contagious laugh, Carol was Loved by ALL!

Carol is survived by her loving sons, Dan and Shawn Sullivan, her loving Sister, Maureen Desmeule and 12 nephews and nieces; Michael McCormack, David McCormack, (the late) Kevin McCormack, Maureen McCormack, Tracey (Squires) Melanson, Jim Squires, Kelly (Squires) Bombino, Joe Squires, Rick Desmeule, Nathan Desmeule, Justin Desmeule, Tim Desmeule, and of course, ALL their significant others and children.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Squires, her sister, Beverly (Squires) McCormack, and her brothers, Jim Squires and Joe Squires... They are now together again and awaiting our arrival.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 4 – 5:30 PM at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.  A short service will take place at the funeral home at 5:30 PM.
