Bruce Rockwood Obituary

Bruce D. Rockwood – Danville, NH

Bruce D. Rockwood age 58, of Danville, passed peacefully at home in his sleep on May 13th , 2021, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on December 7th, 1962, a son of the late Gerald Rockwood and Elizabeth (Brown) Rockwood in Medford, MA, Mr. Rockwood was raised in Somerville MA where he received his primary and secondary education in the Somerville public schools. After graduation, he continued his education at Northeast Aero Tech, Northern Essex Community College, and Sylvania Tech, focusing on skill building he would later use as a mechanic and assembly technician for several businesses, including Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T), Fireye, Wiggins Airways and E.P.E to name a few.

Bruce was an avid train enthusiast and outdoorsman who spent much of his free time with family and friends in the White Mountains, particularly the area surrounding Mount Washington and the Mount Washington Cog Railway. He has driven the Mount Washington Auto road over 150 times bringing up family friends and even strangers we have met along the way. He loved to go hiking and camping there with his family and friends. Bruce was not only a loved soul, but a shining example of a loving soul---it didn’t matter who you were, he was always ready to welcome you with a smile, a coffee, and conversation. He touched all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He will be remembered especially for his devotion to his wife and their family, especially their 6 grandchildren: TJ-age11, Tyler Jr, age 9, Bentley, Age 7, Lexa, Age 4, Jaxon, Age 3, and Atticus, Age 1 month.

In addition to his mother, Elizabeth Rockwood, Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Tammy (Scott) Rockwood, His 4 children: Timm Strong, Haverhill, MA, Tyler Strong Sr., Goffstown, NH, Chris Scott, Derry NH, and Christina Leonard, Sandown, NH. He is also predeceased by his brother Kevin Rockwood of Somerville MA, and survived by his brother Mark Rockwood Sr. and his wife Linda of Raymond, NH, his sister Susan Quinn of Dixville, ME, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
