Brian Alan Thorne – Salem, NH

Brian Alan Thorne age 63 of Salem passed away at his home on Thursday, November 25, 2021.  He was born on November 23, 1958 in Fukuoka, Japan the son of the late Larry E. and Theresa D. (Dupras) Thorne.  Brian attended the Nashua school system graduating from Bishop Guertin in 1976.  While in high school Brian enlisted into the United States Marine Corp and served his country.  He was honorably discharged in 1980.  He received an Associate Degree from New Hampshire Technical College in Nashua, NH.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Clorinda M. (Ziccardi) Thorne of Salem, NH.  His sister-in-law Roberta A. Bruno, mother-in-law Filomena Ziccardi and nephew Jason M. Bruno all of Swampscott, MA.  Predeceased by his parents, Larry E. Thorne and Theresa (Dupras) Thorne and niece Rebecca M. Bruno.

Brian spent 40 years in a variety of roles within Quality Control.  He was employed by Aavid, Thermal Division of Boyd Corporation in Woburn, MA as the Quality Control Supervisor.

Brian had a love and passion for motor cycles, he was a member of the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club.  He volunteered for a variety of charity organizations. He enjoyed cooking and creating his own unique recipes. In his younger years Brian loved to camp and enjoy the outdoors.  A lover of animals and a compassionate soul who had a generous spirit.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, getting together with his Nam Knight Brothers and his Wednesday date night with his wife at the Colosseum.

There are no calling hours.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 40 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.  Burial in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH with USMC Military Honors will take place at a later date, at the convenience of the family.  Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home is entrusted with Mr. Thorne’s arrangements.  Those who would like to remember Brian can make donations in his memory to:
