Bessie Stramaglia Obituary

Bessie F. (Scott) Stramaglia passed away peacefully early morning on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Lawrence General Hospital. Bessie was born in Salem, NH on November 25,1939  and was educated in Salem public schools.

She worked at Parlex Electronics for many years as a line supervisor until her retirement.

She was very dedicated to her family and was always there to listen or lend a hand. Bessie always made time to engage in thoughtful conversation with those close to her. For many years, her home was the center for the family to get together for holiday celebrations and delicious meals. Her home cooked meals and baked items (banana bread a favorite) provided the background for many fond memories. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and kept a photo wall near her chair updated with recent photos. Bessie was a constant knitter and was always making a sweater, blanket or hat set for her extended family, friends and provided mittens for children in public school. She also enjoyed visiting yard sales and searching for treasures that she could share with others. Bessie will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we are happy she is now in a better place and finally reunited with Louis once again.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Louis Stramaglia. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Dorothy (Barnes) Scott of NH.  She is survived by her daughter Debra DeLuca and her husband Benjamin of Austin, TX , daughter Sharon Birchall widow of Charles Birchall, III of Methuen, MA, son Gene Stramaglia of Salem, NH, daughter Cynthia Russo of Methuen, MA, son Keith Stramaglia and his wife Marybeth of Salem, NH. Grandchildren Kelly Frazier and husband Donald Jr., Charles Birchall IV and Alison Audette, Benjamin DeLuca, III and wife Gretchen, Lenny Russo Jr. and wife Marianna, Nickolas DeLuca and wife Sarah, Scott Birchall and Claire Nguyen, and Andrew Russo.Bessie also leaves her great grandchildren Gianni Birchall, Jacob and Juliana DeLuca, Enzo Russo, Caden and Conor Birchall, and Eli, Hazel and Henry DeLuca. She leaves her sister Nancy Stys, brothers Joe Scott, Arthur Scott, Bobby Scott, Harry Scott and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
