Barbara Reeser Obituary

Barbara Ann (Steinhoff) Reeser passed away peacefully, on Thursday January 20, 2022, surrounded by her family here on earth. She was born on April 24, 1960 in Columbia, South Carolina.

She is now gone to be with her Savior and with the family that had gone before.

Barbara moved up to Salem NH from Aiken, SC in July 2017 to live with her brother, Richard Steinhoff to start a new chapter of her life. She grew new roots of fellowship and community at Free Christian Church in Andover, MA where she made new friends.

As a young girl, Barbara was raised on a farm, where she came to love the outdoors, animals, and especially horses. Some years before moving up, she both owned and cared for quite a few horses, as well as being an avid rider. She also loved to fish along the inlet waterways of the South Carolina shoreline.

Barbara was a bookkeeper by trade and had a sharp mind for detail and numbers.

She enjoyed spending time talking to friends and family, attending family events, and camping out in a pop-up trailer

Barbara was predeceased by her mother Doris Ruth (Lang) Steinhoff and her father Herman Richard Steinhoff.

Barbara is survived by 7 siblings, Richard Steinhoff, Bruce Steinhoff, David Steinhoff, Jennifer Lee (Steinhoff) Hall and family, Tara (Steinhoff) Mixon and family, Duane Steinhoff and family, Shy (Steinhoff) Akin and family.

Also, she leaves her father’s second wife, Diane Steinhoff and family, and her father’s sister, Aunt Joan Holeman, Joan’s son Robert Holeman and family.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who she all appreciated and cared for deeply.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for all of the staff at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA for their unwavering support and compassion during the last few weeks of Barbara’s life.

In lieu of flowers, please instead make a donation to the Free Christian Church Missions Fund in behalf of Barbara S. Reeser.  Barbara was a strong believer and advocate for Missions in general and specially wanted to make a trip on day to Mexico.  Free Christian Church, 31 Elm Street, Andover, MA 01810,  (978) 475-0700, http://www.freechristian.org
