Barbara F. Bonfilio – Derry, NH

Barbara F. Bonfilio age 79 of Derry, NH passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at home with her family at her side. She was born on April 14, 1943 in Waltham, MA the daughter of the late, Edward and Charlotte (Sweet) LeClair.  She was raised and educated in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School.  After getting married, she moved to Billerica, MA where she raised her family.

She worked as a sales associate at Macy’s in Burlington, MA for 30 years.

Barbara enjoyed spending vacations in York, ME with her family. She also enjoyed spending time in Concord and Lexington, MA. She was a “spur of the moment, get up and go” lady, who enjoyed rides in the car travelling all over New England with her mom. She found solace enjoying a good cup of coffee and reading the daily newspaper everyday while chatting with the locals at “Dunks” before work. She was a private person and was happiest around her family.  She adored having sleepovers with her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her longtime companion, James Cain of Wilmington, MA, her daughter, Kristin (Bonfilio) Hamilton and her husband, Chris of Derry, NH, her grandsons, Matthew Hamilton and his wife, Bryanna of Derry, NH and Nicholas Hamilton and his wife, Maddie of Chester, NH as well as her granddaughter, Faith Hamilton of Derry, NH. She was predeceased by her son, Lawrence Bonfilio, her sister, Shirley White and her brother, Edward LeClair.

Calling hours are Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10 – 11 AM at Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home at 11 AM. Private burial will follow the funeral service.
